who let this boy turn 4?!? i just cant believe it! times passes by sooo fast... kinda makes this mama sad!

since we took the boys to the circus for Luc's birthday... we went with a circus themed party. it was so much fun to plan! a lot of hard work and time, but turned out super cute so it was worth it! :)

in a way, it was a mothers worse mightmare... the menu included cotton candy, popcorn, and peanuts IN THE SHELL. what was i thinking?! but... i had to stick with the theme ;)) the party favors were in cute little popcorn boxes! and i think my other fav part was the photo booth... look how cute our little clowns are!! the party was a big success and lots of fun!

a few things about my big 4 year old lucas...

he loves a car/track/truck/tractor... you get the idea! i mean LOVES them! he is still ALL BOY... full speed ahead all the time... he sweats more than any kid i've ever seen. he'd probably sweat playing in the snow! ;) he loves to wear blue jeans and rain work boots and work gloves... he gets to play/work with poppi on thursdays after bible study and i swear the kid is never happier!! he is a very hard worker... whether it's wiping down the floors if there's a spill, or carrying wood/big sticks, planting the garden, helping poppi with the cars... whatever he can do hands on and get dirty, he loves it! he also loves to go fishin with poppi! he and poppi are best buddies! 

luc loves to eat cereal just like his daddy! and the boy can tear up some yogurt. sometimes, he eats it 3 times a day and would probably eat it 6 if i'd let him! he loves a lunchable... esp the oreos! he likes bbq chips, red chips, and blue chips (nacho cheese and ranch doritos!) :) he loves some apple juice, just like his mama! 

he is so creative. he has the biggest imagination... must get that from his daddy! i love hearing him play and sing in his room! he loves his family... still a big ol mamas boy! he tells me oftentimes when i'm dropping him off in the mornings- i just LOVE you. that's why i'm sad. :'( that boy... has his mama's heartstrings!! he gives great big knock ya down hugs and kisses!! ohhh... and he STILL loves his blanky. i mean LOVES. i've never seen a blanket make a kid happier! he sleeps with it all the time, and when he's tired, he takes the satin edge of it and rubs his eyes... it's just precious!

i'm sure there's lots of other things he does and loves... but this is it for now!

The GREEATTEST SHOW ON EARTH

On Thursday, January 24, opening night, we went to the circus to help celebrate Luc's 4th birthday!!! We went with Rob, (Very Pregnant) Amy, and Jack. It was a lot of fun!
Being the thrifty person that I am... I bought silly glasses, clown noses, glow necklaces, cotton candy, popcorn... basically anything we would need, at the dollar store before the show! It saved us SO MUCH MONEY. wow. The circus was fun but I could hardly justify paying $65 for 4 of us... If we would have bought any snacks or even the cheapest souvenier, no doubt we would have spent over $100 easy. Which hey, if you got it, spend it and have fun! But we gotta take a different approach! :)

I was able to go with our youth to Gatlinburg over Martin Luther King Weekend! We were at a conference called Strength to Stand, which is put on by Scott Dawson. We took 15 people from ACF with us, 11 kids and 4 chaperones. I had the amazing experience of rooming with our 3 sweet exchange students!! Hannah is 17 and from New Zealand. Tily is 17 from Berlin. and Patricia is 17 from Austria. It has been my joy to get to know them the past several months! And... it's also been my joy to get to see each one of them come to know Christ!!!! Patricia accepted Christ back in November, a few days after her Vida Neuva Weekend. It was long awaited and I could not have been more happy for her!!! And before Gatlinburg, I really didn't know Tily that well, but I was praying she would make a decision of some sort while at the conference. And I didn't know Hannah AT ALL before our trip. But God is so cool and he allowed me to be a part of both of their Salvation Experiences!!!!! Jan 19-21 2013 was definitely a weekend to remember! We all had an incredible trip, and saw God do so many GOD THINGS! I am so thankful that circumstances allowed me to go and be a part of such a life changing weekend! I love love love our youth, and to be able to be there with Hannah and Tily when they received Christ was simply amazing! We have built such strong relationships and it is so neat to see God moving!!

the boys and i went to a family reunion in mississippi with mom! i haven't seen my great aunts/uncles/distant cousins in YEARS! it was fun taking the kids and showing them off... but it was also cool to tell them when i was little, i played under that same huge tree in the front yard! :)

Bunk Beds

as the boys get older, they get more stuff! their room was pretty crowded with a crib and a toddler bed. so we took the plunge and went for bunk beds! :) they are so cute and the boys LOVE them!!

they boys quickly adjusted and now we have way more room for toys!! good thing... since christmas is just around the corner! :)
