i know i've said it before, but i will say it again, and probably again and again. page dollar is the BEST!!! :) we recently had family pics made... they turned our fantastic! there's so many i want to share, but i will try and narrow it down to less than 83 :)

i meant to post about this after trace's birthday, and i forgot. shocker! i had a huge meeting at work scheduled for march 2. well that day, storms rolled in and all the schools closed early. we had to postpone our meeting. :( the worst part, was we moved it to march 8... trace's birthday! i was kinda upset that i wouldn't get to see him much on his special day. even though we already had his pirate party with lucas in feb, it was his birthday. so we celebrated that morning by opening presents, then sent cupcakes to bible study. but the best part was when they got home, and lucas went down for a nap, trace got to go with poppi to the motorcycle museum!! my meeting was at barber motorsports and i thought hey, what better place to take a 5 year old boy on his birthday!! they rode in poppi's convertable... top down, shades on, music up, and bubble gum in his mouth! he thought he was hot stuff! nate met them up at the museum. i only got to see them for a few minutes, b/c my meeting craziness was about to start. but it really worked out great that the meeting was on his bday, b/c i got them in for free since i was already there! :)

we took the boys for their 3 and 5 year checkups... i remember that last year i took the boys by myself, and it was a huge dramatic fiasco. well this year i made nate go with, and it was still, a huge dramatic fiasco! the boys were terrified of their shots. but they did good when dr miller was checking them out, so we are getting better! :) they are both healthy as can be. we are so thankful, and i know that i'm guilty of taking their health for granted all too often.
trace is 22 months older than lucas, and there's only a 6 pound and 6 inch difference in the boys! i think that's kinda crazy! but luc eats most everything in sight, while trace hardly eats anything, so it's not surprising! trace is just tall and skinny... like his mama used to be ;) and luc, he is built! pure muscle, just like his daddy! :))

5 yrs: 40 pounds, 44 inches tall. 45% for weight, 73% for height.
i'm super happy with that, b/c it's by far the highest  percentage that trace has been on for his weight!

3 yrs: 34 pounds and 38 inches. 70% for weight and 60% for height. such a goofball!
and almost as big as his bro, won't be long before he catches up, and probably passes him!!

potty time!!

well i've always said lucas would wear big boy underwear when HE wanted to, and not a minute sooner!! the past month he has been doing good, and wearing a diaper but still going to the potty a lot. well this is week two in big boy underwear! HOOOORAY!!!!! mama gets a (small) raise! :) i'm proud of him.. he has hardly had any accidents.. he still wears a diaper at bedtime but hey, i'll take that! here he is showing off his new cute undies! :)

it's been a while...

so apparently i've fallen off my blog train... iittssshhh! here's a few pics of what we've been up to lately... nothing too exciting, but hey, it's our life! :)

daddy joined a men's bball league. we've made it to a few games, and the boys love sporting their "team daddy" shirts! :)

is my baby really 5? FIVE??? there's no way my baby is 5.

 or maybe there is. but somewhere, sometime, i blinked and days turned into weeks into months into years. and my baby is 5.

 is he really big enough to ask for cool "boxer briefs like daddy wears?" apparently so. birthday bumblebee boxer briefs! for my biggest little one, my baby is 5.

 he couldn't wait to open his big gift... and we couldn't wait for him to open it either!

he got his very first real guitar!

 oh yeah... he loved it! soon he will start taking lessons from daddy. 

i can hardly comprehend that my baby is 5.

 he seems so young... but he has played toy guitars with daddy from the time he could hold one in his hands. oh, to remember the days gone by. i distinctly remember this one time, nate and trace were sitting in the kitchen floor, playing guitars. trace was wearing footed pjs. not sure why i remember that, but i do. it comes natural for my boy, playing the guitar. but it just can't be... my baby is 5.

 not to leave anyone out... we got lucas a little electric guitar. which he loves!! it runs in the family.. these boys love a guitar concert in the living room with their daddy! makes my heart smile to see it! lucas is 3... and my baby is 5.

 if i didn't know better, i'd say the one holding the guitar is a baby trace a few years ago. i mean, there's no way lucas is the youngest baby, and my baby is 5.

 it plays... on it's own! no hands ma! :) i remember when trace played with his toy guitar! he's had several in fact. he actually likes to play with this one of lucs. but, we got him a big boy guitar... because my baby is 5.

 it's just now hitting me, as i type this out. that my baby is 5. 

 it brings tears to my eyes to see this boy. he has grown so much. i can hardly stand it, how fast time has flown. i literally can not believe it is true. my baby is 5.

 this beautiful smile, on my precious tracecar's face... it says it all. he is happy. sweet. funny. he is tender- hearted. he is smart. so very smart! observant, creative, sincere, faithful, praying. he is a fast running, freckle faced, bike riding, dump truck driving, bedtime snuggler, water drinking, joke telling picky eater. kiss giving, blue eyed, believing, handsome, kind, always singing typeof kid. tree climbing, knee scraping, barefoot playing, banana eater, sunglass wearing, flower giving, protective brother. an amazing artist, thoughtful, cute and cowlicked hair, tall and skinny, wonderful pray-er, deep question asking, silly little man. this is my baby. and somehow, my baby is 5.

i can hardly remember life without this sweet boy. i will never forget the way he looked at me from across the hospital room while getting cleaned up only minutes after i delivered him. he heard my voice, turned his head, and stared at his mama. oh this boy... he has my heart. i'm so very very thankful for him. thankful that god blessed us with him. that god chose nate and i to be his parents, and lucas to be his brother. trace carter whitt, you are one of a kind. you will always, always, always be my baby. i love you more than words can say. you amaze me every day. your smile lights up the room, your laugh is contagious. your heart is so big. your faith is so simple, yet so strong. i just love everything about you. i love you to the moon and back trace carter!

who is 5.

arrgghhh mate!

the boys had a pirate birthday party this year. their birthdays are about 5 weeks apart, and this year i was super stressed and couldn't handle 2 parties a month apart  they begged to have a joint party! ;-) we went all out, pirate style! from treasure maps to sword fights to treasure hunts to find their party favors, hooks, eye patches, jewelry and knives, we had a blast! tons of kids came to help celebrate... you can imagine the mass chaos of 25 little kiddos running around sword fighting to jake the neverland pirate's themesong! the cake was super cute, thanks to laura bolcar for making it! i think we could have eaten twice that much, every single bite was in haled in about 4 minutes flat i think! :) the decorations were fun... nate and i made the posters, maps, and treasure chests! the boys thought it was a super cool party, and i kinda have to agree with them! :)) they got tons of presents and of course, trace is already asking when he can have another party. (crazy kid!)
