sweet babies

we are 12 weeks and 2 days pregnant! woo hoo, almost in the second trimester!! today nate and i went to the dr and heard our sweet baby's hearbeat!! music to my ears :) we got a great report. i am so thankful that so far everything is right on track. we will go back in 4 weeks for another quick visit then in 2 weeks after that to find out the sex! yippee!! i am also thankful for my sweet husband who took time off work to go to the dr with me. it helps me stay calm when he goes!

and another thing i am so thankful for, my other sweet baby trace carter! he is just getting so big! meme took him swimming today and he swam with swimmies only - what a big boy!!!! we are going to the beach next weekend, just the 3 1/2 of us, and i am soooo excited and ready for another mini-vacation!

and here's my little man with such a cute look on his face! he is such a momma's boy lately and i just love it!!! my favorite thing is when he runs up to me, either from behind or strait in front of me and wraps his arms around me and just buries his head in my legs. yeah, you momma's out there know what i am talking about. it's the greatest feeling ever! oh i love my trace!!

HAPPY 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY NATE! yep, today we have been married for 4 years... seems like just yesterday we were getting engaged at the third day concert :) but 4 years and 1 + 1/2 babies later... here we are!! god has been so good to us. we try and be faithful to him but i know we fail him daily. we don't deserve the blessings he has given us but we are so thankful for them! i love my sweet, hard working, fun loving husband, and i love the precious, beautiful baby boy he helped create :) i love my life!!

quick funny story... nate and i decided to meet at logan's for lunch today. i called him as he was leaving work and i told him - see ya there (logan's.) i decided to go ahead and get us a table. so i gave nate a call and told him where i was sitting. a few minutes later he called me and asked where i had parked and i told him right in the front... a few seconds later he said - please tell me you are at the trussville logan's... of course i wasn't! since i only have an hour for lunch we usually meet in irondale. but if we go to logan's on the weekend, we always go to trussville. so we learned an important lesson in communication on our 4 year anniversary!! i ordered our food and even though the cheesesticks got to the table before nate, he made it to the irondale logan's before the rest of the food arrived :) and we still managed to enjoy our nice lunch!

and since i have to post pics when i blog, since i don't have any new pics of me and nate together, i guess the cute kids will have to do! just a few recent pics to make you smile!!!

we are definitely staying busy these days... this week we've been "racing for jesus" at vacation bible school each nite. by time i get home i really do feel like i've been in a long race. i stay tired but god is giving me the strength i need for each day! i am looking forward to the weekend, hopefully we will get to rest! i will take some more pics i'm sure!!

thankful...

the kids have so much fun at meme and bitsy's while i am at work... i am so thankful that our moms watch trace for us, i just can't imagine him going to daycare. it makes it easier to take him to family during the day, but sometimes i still get jealous that they are the ones taking him to the pool and just hanging out with my sweet boy all day! but we're working on that... god knows my desire to be a stay at home or at least part time stay at home mom... it's just a matter of time i hope! well, these pics are from meme's house... the kids really enjoyed their pool time. lala in her sun hat is just adorable... and the ones below of trace laying on his cousins crack me up too. and of course crazy caden in his goggles... the kids totally love each other and they love playing together. trace is starting to say "ca-den" now and he can't just say la-la, he always says "hey lala!" and he can say "kinney" too. we're working on meme, g-daddy, bitsy and poppi. i think poppi is gonna be his next word :) now he's hooked on "wow!" i love hearing him talk and say new things... and i love just listening to him babble in his baby talk. too sweet! anyways. i love the fact that they (the babies!) are practically growing up as brothers and sisters and i hope they will always be as close as they are now. enjoy the pool pics! and just so ya know, kenley is in gatlinburg on another vacation... we are not leaving her out of the pictures on purpose! she'll be back next week and i know her bubbas will be so glad to see her, and she'll be glad to see them too, b/c she's back to being an only child this week!

liberty day celebration

trace and i went to visit loni and her new house in columbiana... it was a long way from home (argo!) but we made it! we went to the liberty day celebration in down town columbiana. it was fun. there were kids clogging, tap dancing, and a few old men singing. trace loved watching everyone perform! then there were all sorts of arts and craft booths set up, and a little "carnival" area set up with rides and games and cotton candy. trace and i ate corn dogs for lunch then snacked on a shaved ice - my favorite!!! later in the afternoon it started sprinkling and we thought we could outrun the rain to the van... but we were wrong! we were soaking wet by time we got there, but it was still fun!! here are just a few pics of my crazy boy and me!

YAY for another sonar and great report from the dr!!! the top sonar was taken 2 weeks ago at 6 weeks prego. the baby is t-tiny, and actually is magnified in this pic. can you see the sweet little white spot? that's our baby!! he/she was barely the size of a grain of rice, yet we could already see the heartbeat. thank you jesus. it brought tears to my eyes seeing it for the first time, and i still almost cry just remembering that sweet picture that is forever etched in my mind.

so this sonar is from our appointment yesterday! can you see the baby? it looks like a white jellybean and it's on the right side, almost touching the wall. our baby has grown so much in just 2 weeks! again, i saw the itty bitty heart beating and it just amazes me everytime!! there is such a big difference in the 2 pics, and this week, that is actual size. no magnifying! they said he/she is around 5/8 inch big. just growing and healthy as can be. we are sooo thankful!

i always get so nervous before my dr appointments. i know everything is going to go fine, but i guess part of it is just nervous excitement. and the fact that you sit in that freezing cold room practically naked for 30 minutes waiting on the dr~ but it was def. worth the wait!!!! also, i just love my doctors. adcock of course is our favorite, even nate's!! but the other 3 are great too. and the office is so comforting, to have praise and worship music playing and cute baby posters on the ceiling with scripture to take your mind off of things... i couldn't ask for a better group of doctors. i started going to brookwood ob/gyn south about 8 or 9 years ago, when i was still in high school. sweet dr. perry and dj did my surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. i miss dr perry but we know he's in a better place. i'm thankful that god brought me to that place with christian doctors and nurses that help make those not so fun dr visits bearable. anyways... we go back in 4 weeks for our official "first ob" visit, to do lab work and we'll also get to listen to the baby's heartbeat! i love it when i'm in the room waiting on the dr to come in and i can hear little heartbeats all over the office from other patients hearing their little babies. is that bad that i listen??

ok. i might be rambling now. but that's my not-so-quick baby update... i've been feeling better the past couple of weeks, still tired, and if it's not nausea it's heartburn, but hey, i better get used to that, right?!? and the last pic is my little baby bump. yep. 8 weeks and 2 days prego and already gettin' a pooch. maternity clothes - here i come! :) at least they're comfy!
