eAsTeR sUnDaY 2010

i hope everyone had a great easter. i know we did! let me just say, we had a minor accident sunday morning... involving trace, his head, and a doorframe. so we'll get the poor pitiful "i'm so not happy" picture out of the way first! look at my baby. :( i will say though, this was taken right after it happened. today there's only a small bruise and knot. it wasn't the first, and i know it won't be the last!

ok. from here out it will be all smiles. the pics aren't exactly in order, b/c trace actually opened his easter basket, and played for a little while. THEN he smacked his head. but he quickly got over it, and had a great day! (again, no bump here. pre-accident.) i so LOVE this pic of him. LOVE it!) he is sporting his new shades (from the how to train a dragon movie. nate took him to see it sat... it was his first movie theater experience ever. and he loved it. i'm so happy he and daddy can bond these days with cool big boy stuff. anyways!) and showing off his new motorcycles!

we did simple baskets for the boys. seriously... a lil bit of candy, some bubbles, and for trace, 2 hot wheel motorcycles that he is crazy about! we tried to teach him about the real meaning of easter. we used the resurrection eggs, and i think he kind of understood. i know next year he will get it more, ya know? we talked on good friday how jesus died on the cross for our sins, so that we would be forgiven, and can one day live with jesus forever in heaven. (and he already knew jesus died on the cross, but i'm sure the whole "on this day" kind of confused him! but we tried) back to the baskets, trace loved his!

and so did lucas! he got a few eggs, some bubbles, and 2 new passies! he also got a diego ball that he loved chasing around the house!

we had sunday school, then a great worship service at church! and then it was off to meme and grandaddy's house! we always have the WHOLE family, everyone, from all sides of the family, and it's so fun. it's loud, crazy, and messy, but fun! and yesterday, it was HOT! we even had to put sunscreen on the kids it was so hot. but that means the SUN was SHINING, and for that, we are thankful! it's been cool and rainy the past few easter sundays, so yesterdays great weather was a beautiful gift! we took several shots, trying desparately for a good family pic. didn't really happen. but we tried. i do however like the one of me and nate!

so i'm sure it comes as no surprise to ya'll that i took over 200 pictures! i could have made a million collages, but i tried to contain myself! i hope everyone had a great easter, and remembered the true reason we celebrate. it's not about the baskets or eggs, the perfect dress or shoes. it's all about jesus, and the sacrifice he made for us. the salvation he offers. for you, and for me. i am SO thankful that he did what he did on good friday, and that he rose again on sunday. hallelujah and praise the lord! :)
